It was like I was watching some kind of movie, but you know how it goes in dreams, watching it somehow seamlessly sucks you in to become part of it. It was about a really weird looking tree called the Elephant Tree. It looked like an ordinary tree stripped bare of its leaves otherwise except for the base which was rather shapely and bulbous and the bark was grey with bristly hair sprouting out from between the cracks here and there. A thick root, two smaller roots and the shapes kind of made it look like there was an elephant face at the base of the tree with tusks a trunk and ears and all. Coming close to it I could hear a deep, low, muffled bellowing sound, churning humming... I can't describe it really but it's the kind of sound that sinks into your body and makes you feel sick. It constantly made this sound and very loud when it got excited... It was alive in more ways than a normal tree should be. I remember climbing it at the beginning with several younger people and I found that when you got about halway up the world around me grows dark and totally different, with dark clouds showing a red glow like I climbed into a totally different world that way. Apparently we were lucky to have clumb up on the other end of its face because later I saw the trunk grapple someone, the elephant root face and the base of the tree very lively. It made those excited loud sick noises as the person would just act really weird with the root trunk wrapped around him, like showing care and crying and getting angry, like the tree was ransacking his memory. After staring for a while at his puppeteering, the tree pulled the person back to its face and started to eat him with violent chews. The entire tree went up and down, like smashing its full weight into the body making the sound of bones being completely destroyed, the skull crunching the loudest. I think after that the dream just got from interstingly eerie to bad and I watched how people then tried to destroy the tree. I never saw it move about but it was never in the same place, sometimes simply popping up inside houses. Completely black furred monkies sometimes appeared from the higher branches, all features hidden within their blackness except beady white glowing eyes. They would attack and rip apart people coming close to the tree when they wanted to kill it. Apparently it never ate small children though, when they screamed it would freeze up. Somehow blue also froze it up, but it still grabbed people wearing blue. Eventually I watched as people experimented with a bucket of its resin which looked like watered down blood with soupy rice and came up with a plan. They surrounded the tree and let their children scream continuously so it would freeze up and not blink away from them as they would paint it entirely in blue. When the screams stopped, the sick bellowing noises were gone too and it now was just a tree painted blue, just standing there in a compleely empty field. I wateched it from a distance and seasons rushed by until I noticed the paint had cracked and the wind carried awaya chip of blue exposing just a small bit of the grey bark underneath. Then I saw the tree vanish again, leaving the brittle husk of blue paint before it collapsed and crumbled. Then the friggin thing just popped up again right in front of my face, the sickening loud bellowing noises all around me before I woke up feeling I was about to pee myself...
